Skills and Experience:


Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience in planned giving and familiarity with bequests, gift annuities and charitable trusts.   Has demonstrated the ability to articulate them to prospects and donors, and to confidentially explore planned giving opportunities


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written, verbal and the ability to connect with donors, prospects and their advisors


Commitment to FIDF’s mission and the ability to communicate it to others


Proficiency with all Microsoft applications; Raiser’s Edge, PG Calc or Cresendo.


Perform all work in a meticulous and organized manner


Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team and to handle multiple projects simultaneously




Knowledgeable about Israel and the Jewish community


Prior experience working for a public charity


Essential Job Duties:



·        Work with and assist the Director of Planned Giving (DPG) to: identify, cultivate, solicit and steward planned giving donors and prospects to continue building a robust planned giving portfolio:

o   Research potential donors in Raiser’s Edge database and other sources based on determined parameters

o   Review and respond to incoming mail/email

o   Create list(s) of planned giving donors and prospects

o   Prepare introduction packages for potential donors and allied professionals

o   Create and review marketing and direct mail materials

o   Create and maintain well-organized bequest and gift annuity files

·        Assist DPG in preparing for, managing and following up on:

o   Legacy Society events

o   Donor seminars

o   Allied professional seminars

·        Work with DPG in maintaining and keeping the planned giving section of the FIDF website relevant and updated

·        Work with DPG to develop and strengthen relationships with FIDF’s lay leaders and recurring donors as well as increase their participation in the Legacy Society

·        Collaborate with the Development and Special Events teams on a regular basis as well as for special/various projects

·        Work with IT Department to update Raiser’s Edge donor database to ensure accurate entry of donor information for existing and new donors

·        Complete other tasks as assigned by DPG when needed



·        Ability to explain simple and complex planned giving issues to colleagues, donors and prospects

·        Contribute to a learning culture and create a positive working environment for staff by sharing planned giving ideals and FIDF values
