From the President

"The purpose of life is to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have it make some difference that we lived at all."
- Leo Rosten

"What is the use of living, if it not be to strive for noble causes and to make this muddled world a better place for those who will live in it after we are gone?"

Dear Friends:

Planned Giving Day NYC 2019 was a huge success! We were nearly sold out with 240 people attending, the most since 2001. It was wonderful to see so many friends and to meet new colleagues. Click here to see photos from this wonderful day.

PPGGNY extends our deepest appreciation to our sponsors and exhibitors for their generous support of this important day and throughout the year. We thank each of you for all that you do for us.

We also thank all of our speakers who presented at the conference for educating us, for inspiring us in our careers and for helping to make this conference such a success.

At the reception, we held a drawing to give away books donated by Alexandra Pia Brovey and Lynn Malzone Ierardi. If you missed out, here are the links to purchase the books on Amazon.

Alexandra Pia Brovey’s book is Zen and the Art of Fundraising: The Pillars in Practice, the third book in the Zen Pillars trilogy, which shows you how to apply the 16 pillars to be a successful fundraiser. It is available (along with the other 2 books) here.

Lynn Malzone Ierardi’s book is Storytelling: The Secret Sauce of Fundraising Succes, which shows you how to use stories to engage stakeholders and increase gifts to your organization. The book is available here.

Our monthly sessions will resume on September 19, 2019. And on October 24, 2019, we will be holding our bi-annual Honoree Luncheon where we award a Lifetime Achievement Award and the Cloughy Award. So mark your calendar now and plan to attend.

You can join or renew your membership now for the 2019-2020 year. Memberships run from July 1 to June 30 each year. If you are new to PPGGNY, please consider becoming a part of this special group.
