You Can Do It: Planned Giving, the Basics

In this session we will discuss the various types of gift planning vehicles that organizations offer, and those that they accept.  The importance of creating planned gift opportunities for your donors and the impact planned gift revenue can have on your organization will be explored.

This session is eligible for CFRE credit.

Putting the Centric in Donor-Advised Funds

by Joanne Pipkin, Director of Development, Greater Washington Community Foundation

Promoted by community foundations since the 1930’s, the use of donor-advised funds increased in the last 25 years to be one of the leading charitable gift vehicles. With over $78 billion in charitable assets, donors are taking advantage of establishing donor-advised funds to accomplish their charitable goals. This presentation examines the history, components and usage of donor-advised funds.

This session qualifies for CPE and CFRE credit.


Luncheon Presentation (12:30 PM - 2:00 PM)

Women & Money: A Practical Guide to Estate Planning

by Patricia M. Annino, Attorney, Rimon PC

We all know it. Women will outlive men and control major wealth decisions in the next 20-30 years. Discussion will include practical tips, strategies and case studies on how to education and empower the woman donor so philanthropic action happens now.

This session is eligible for CPE, CLE, and CFRE credit.

About Our Speakers

Davida Isaacson

A President Emeritus and recipient of the Cloughy Award from PPGGNY in 2015, Davida has been in the planned giving community since joining WNET in 1992.  Her prior career was in trust and estate banking.  She has presented frequently for PPGGNY and across the country on planned giving topics.  Currently phasing out her consulting practice, Davida is working as the Senior Philanthropic Advisor for The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ.

 


 

 

 

Joanne Pipkin

Since August 2016, Joanne has been serving as the Director of Development for the Greater Washington Community Foundation.  With extensive experience in relationship management and working with premier non-profit organizations, Joanne focuses on building collaborative partnerships between donors, professional advisors and The Community Foundation. The Greater Washington Community Foundation is the largest grant-maker in the Washington, DC region, with over $1 billion in grants since its inception in 1973.


Prior to joining The Community Foundation, Joanne was a Senior Relationship Manager and Team Leader at State Street Global Advisors for over 19 years.

Patricia M. Annino is a partner in the global law firm Rimon P.C.’s Trust and Estates Group. A nationally recognized authority on estate planning  Ms. Annino has more than 30 years of experience serving the diverse needs of families, individuals, and owners of closely held businesses.

A leading voice on estate planning matters, Ms. Annino has been quoted extensively in a wide variety of local and national publications including the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Dallas Morning News, Chicago Tribune, MarketWatch, Investors.com, and Women’s Business Journal.
