Daniel O'Connell, CPA

Daniel O’Connell is a C.P.A. in Upper Montclair, New Jersey where he specializes in planned giving and tax-exempt organizations. He received an A.B. in mathematics from Boston College, an M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University and completed the Professional Accounting Program at Northwestern University. Before establishing his own practice in 1992, he served as a communications officer in the U.S. Navy and worked in the tax departments of national and local accounting firms.
Mr. O’Connell has spoken before many professional groups including the state CPA societies of New York and New Jersey, the Syracuse University Tax Institute, the New York Academy of Sciences and the Planned Giving Group of Greater New York. He has served as Chairman of both the Exempt Organizations Committee and the Interstate Taxation Committee of the New York State Society of CPAs. The District Director of the Internal Revenue Service appointed him to the IRS Exempt Organization Liaison Group for professionals who specialize in the tax problems of charities.
